State-run carrier EgyptAir operated 5,475 flights during the past three months, the company’s Media Advisor Asma al Saadi told Shorouk News on October 31st.

Aircraft occupancy rates slid to 63% over the past three months, compared to 75% in the same period in 2019, the official added.

EgyptAir has suffered EGP 1 billion in loss during the March-July 2020 period, when air traffic was suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19, according to the news portal.

The Ministry of Finance will reportedly guarantee long-term financing of EGP 3 billion for EgyptAir.
