"The tourist boom which Egypt, is currently enjoying requires a review of the national strategy for tourist development for the upcoming ten years, a matter that needs time," Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Maghrabi has recently said.

The Ministry gives priority to the creation of the new international tourist community on the Mediterranean coast, he stated, noting that this requires attracting investors to develop this region.

According to him, global tourism is developing at a rate of 4 per cent per year and the Middle East region is growing by 5 percent. This region boasts competitive destinations such as the UAE, Tunisia and Lebanon, he conveyed, adding that Egypt is looking to post a growth rate of 6 percent per annum in its tourism sector.

Egypt has the potentials that could qualify it to have bigger share, the minister stressed. (menareport.com)
