Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif attended Sunday a signing ceremony of a contract for managing and operating a station for serving container ships in Alexandria and Al-Dekhila seaports. The contract calls for forming a joint stock company, with Egyptian, Saudi and Chinese partners, to upgrade the already existing container ship stations at Alexandria and Al-Dekheila.

"The planned company will be responsible for operating and upgrading the facilities of the two stations, dealing with more than 400.000 containers per annum," Minister of Transportation Essam Sharaf said.

The upgrading of the two stations will cost LE 500 million and be completed in 2007, Sharaf added, stressing that the newly established company will create 5.500 jobs for the nation's youth.
