Egypt purchases wind turbines from Denmark’s Vestas

Denmark’s Vestas International Wind Technology and Vestas Deutschland, received two orders for a total supply of 117 units of the V47-660 kW turbines to the Zafarana Wind Farm located approximately 200 kilometers South East of Cairo.  

 

The orders are part of a turnkey contract to a consortium consisting of Vestas Deutschland, ABB New Ventures and Egyptian based Kolaly Engineering.  

 

Placed by Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), the order has a value of close to €25 million and is financed by mixed credits from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The order to Vestas Deutschland has a value of around €40 million and is financed by mixed credits from Danish invester KFW. 

 

Vestas International Wind Technology is a fully owned subsidiary Vestas Wind Systems. Its core business comprises the development, manufacture, sale, marketing and maintenance of installations that use wind energy to generate electricity. — (menareport.com)
