The Omani minister of industry and trade recently stated that a free trade zone between Oman and Egypt would soon be established, reported Al-Watan daily. The main goal of the zone will be to encourage investments and increase trade between Egypt and Oman.

During the first stage of the zone’s establishment, all Egyptian and Omani goods will be exempt of customs taxes.

The European Economic Community (ECC) will authorize the establishment of this new zone. In addition, all goods exchanged between Egypt and the ECC will also be exempted from customs taxes. ― (MENA Report)
