Egypt’s Egyptian General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Inland Transport (Egarbit) recently concluded that it will require three billion Egypt pounds ($646 million) to carry out its five-year investment plan and to complete existing projects in Upper Egypt, the New Valley and Sinai, reported Al Ahram. Egarbit fixed the amount needed for road development at EP two billion.
France’s energy and transportation company, Alstom finalized an agreement with the Egyptian government to renovate Cairo’s main subway line. The contract commissions Alstom to repair 52 three-carriage trains for the line that connects El Marg in the north to Helwan in the south. — (menareport.com)
