Increased economic cooperation between Egypt and Jordan was recently discussed at an Arab economic and industry conference held in Cairo, according to Al-Ahram daily. Leading the conference was Egypt’s Minister of Economics and Industry, Yusuf Butrus Raly, and Wasif Aser, his Jordanian counterpart.

The two discussed the countries’ current and future economic relations and the possibility of further mutual investments. The establishment of a free trade zone was also on the agenda. Reportedly, joint economic committees of Jordan and Egypt will hold an additional economic conference in August or November of the current year. ― (MENA Report)
