The Egyptian Ministry of Communication has signed an agreement with the General Information Agency to establish 29 information technology (IT) clubs at media centers and complexes around the country, according to Al-Ahram daily.

The clubs will try to train young men in the uses of modern technology and enrich them with new skills, in order to enable them to obtain better jobs, according to the ministry.

The clubs will be established in two stages. Nineteen will be ready before September 2001, and the other 10 to be set up by December. The clubs will be equipped with 348 computers to provide internet access and computer training at a very low price. - (MENA Report)
