The Egyptian government decided to review its list of permissible goods for importation in order to determine which items can be locally produced and which need to be shipped from abroad, reported Al-Hayat. Prime Minister, Atef Ubeid, commissioned the Minister of Industry and Technology Development, Ali Al-Saeidy, with executing programs to improve national products in order to satisfy the local market demand. Al-Saeidy added that a number of new measures will be adopted to protect national products from competition with bad-quality imported products. The ministry will raise the customs on a number of imported goods. — (menareport.com)
