The Egyptian government is expected to take several steps in the near future to ease restrictions on cotton products, in order to lower export prices and enhance competitiveness on the global markets, according to Al-Ahram daily.
The government will implement a number of measures to achieve these goals, including the annulment of the 15 percent customs exemption awarded to imported yarns products.
It will also employ recently graduated university students in key technical and marketing positions in the public textile and yarns manufacturing firms. Authorities also intend to promote the establishment of small-sized textile and yarn manufacturing enterprises in the country. ― (MENA Report)
