The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture, Yousef Walli, recently described current and past Egyptian-Israeli agricultural cooperation as fruitful, and added that Egypt has benefited from such arrangements, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awast daily.

Walli stated that Egypt has gained much from scientific exchanges with its neighbor, especially in the areas of desert farming and irrigation, a field that Israel has much experience in.

Replying to inquiries of certain members of parliament, most of which were part of the G-17 group, the minister said that Egypt had managed to produce special types of produce with the aid of Israeli expertise. Walli rejected accusations that Israel had spread agricultural diseases in Egypt. ― (MENA Report)
