According to <i>Al-Mendhar</i> newspaper, the Iraqi Minister of Education Minister, Sami al-Mudhafar, announced that his ministry had allocated $50 million for executing various educational projects in the Basra Province, southern Iraq.
These projects include constructing 29 new schools, reconstructing existing schools, building other educational institutions, in addition to establishing new halls for examinations, sports activities, scientific activities and arts activities. These projects are being executed in coordination with the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction and the Iraqi Reconstruction Council.
