The Egyptian Cement Company (ECC) has made its first cement shipment to Libya. The 40,000-ton delivery will be followed by another shipment of the same quantity next month. ECC hopes to export 800,000 tons of cement to the state by the end of the year, reported Al Alam Al Youm .
ECC, a subsidiary of Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) was the first private sector cement company established after the Egyptian government deregulated the industry and began to privatize the state-run cement companies. ECC is located in the Suez area and currently operates four dry process lines, each yielding 1.75 million tons of cement annually. — (menareport.com)
