E-Vision delegation meet filmmakers at Cannes

A delegation from E-Vision, the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s only digital cable TV provider, has taken part in the Cannes Film Market and Festival in France. The company said its participation in the 56th edition of this world cinematic event reflected its “permanent commitment to bring its viewers in the UAE the latest blockbuster movies from around the world.”  

 

Commenting on E-Vision’s participation, Humaid Rashid Sahoo, E-Vision’s Chief Executive Officer, said E-Vision was keen to be present at Cannes festival and market which are among of the most important events on the world cinematic calendar. “We have met with film distributors from different corners of the world and negotiated deals to bring viewers of eView, E-Vision’s own pay per view service, some of the latest block buster movies”, said Sahoo. 

 

eView is the first interactive digital pay per view service in the region. It allows all subscribers to order a movie or an event from a scheduled list at the push of a button. The movies available on eView are from the latest Hollywood and Bollywood releases. For the first time in the region, the Digital Video Broadcasting technology gives eView viewers the option to choose whether to see movies with or without subtitles. 

 

Meanwhile Nassif said: “Our participation in the Cannes Film Market has always been a great opportunity to meet some of the world’s best film producers and distributors from Europe, the United Sates, the Sub-Continent and the Middle East. And we will bring some of the biggest titles to our viewers in the near future.”  

 

E-Vision is the only digital cable TV platform in the UAE. It comprises over 150 channels which include movies, sports, news and eView pay per view service that cater to the needs of the diverse population of the UAE.  

 

E-Vision’s Basic Package of over 80 channels is offered for 50 Emirati dirhams per month and the Showtime Cable packages, ART Cable, e-Pehla and e-FirstNet packages in addition to the A La Carte menu. 

 

An interactive games channel, offering a choice of five games 24 hours a day, is also available free of charge to all subscribers, with further interactive services, such as the Electronic Programme Guide, planned for the near future. E-Vision is currently available in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. — (menareport.com)
