E-Vision and Showtime strike UAE deal

E-Vision, the Uae’s fast developing digital cable TV system, and Showtime the Middle East’s leading digital TV network, have concluded and agreement to enable E-Vision to host ten of Showtime’s popular Western entertainment channels on its network. 

 

Humid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision and Peter Einstein, President and CEO, Showtime announced the deal, at a press conference at the Dubai Press Club. 

 

“The ten Showtime channels offer great variety and entertainment. They are a valuable addition to the E-Vision platform and mark a major step in our goal of providing the ultimate television choice for all the family.” Noted Sahoo. 

 

Showtime will provide E-Vision with The Movie Channel, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon, Paramount, TV land and Hallmark as a premium package, while MTV Asia, MTV Europe, VHI and Style will be added to E-Vision’s basic package at no additional cost to subscribers. 

 

“This deal with E-Vision consolidates Showtime’s position as the leading provider of digital quality Western entertainment for Middle Eastern audience, “ Commented Einstein. 

 

He added: “As the premium digital satellite TV network in the Middle East we are delighted to be working with E-vision to make the development of one of the most technically advanced digital cable networks in the world a real success. We are also excited at E-Vision’s potential to offer interactivity through its state- of- the –art hybrid fiber coaxial technology.”
