Holland has decided to grant €50 million ($43.8 million) in financial aid to Yemen over the year 2002, up from the €20 million committed prior to the declaration of Yemen as a priority support country by the European Union (EU). This constitutes a 150 percent increase, reported the Yemen Observer.
The Dutch support to Yemen focuses on the health, agriculture and education sectors, with a particular interest in cultural initiatives such as the joint Yemen-Dutch project for the development of the National Museum in Sana'a. — (menareport.com)
