Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and the UK’s Representative for International Trade and Investment, yesterday inaugurated the BAE Systems’ office in Manama, Bahrain. The office is the international systems, defense and commercial aerospace company’s first in Bahrain.

The office has been established to support all BAE Systems activities in the Kingdom, including the contract awarded by the Bahrain Defense Force, for the establishment of its Flying Training School.

The contract forms the final part of a four-phase approach to flying training, comprising pilot selection, basic flying training in Slingsby Firefly aircraft, synthetics and simulation, ultimately leading to Hawk advanced jet flying training.

BAE Systems is an international company engaged in the development, delivery, and support of advanced defense and aerospace systems in the air, on land, at sea, and in space. The company designs, manufactures, and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, radar, avionics, communications, electronics, and guided weapon systems. — (menareport.com)
