Dublin International Petroleum (Egypt) Ltd. discovered oil in the Hana-8 well onshore Egypt. The well penetrated 40 feet of net pay in the Kareemoil reservoir.
The well was deepened to 5,400 feet, resulting in a new oil discovery in the Rudeis formation with 22 net feet of pay.
Both zones have been completed and are currently being tied to production. When on stream, Hana-8 is expected to boost field production substantially above the current rate of 3,500 b/d of oil.
A multi-well drilling and pressure maintenance program is scheduled for early 2001 to achieve Hana's full exploitation.
Partners in the Hana field include Drucker Petroleum Inc. and GHP Exploration (West Gharib) Ltd. Dublin International is a subsidiary of Tanganyika Oil Co. Ltd.
