The Gold and Jewelry Group is planning a new strategy to increase gold sales and improve the profile of gold within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and internationally. The new strategy follows the election of a new committee last month, headed by Tawhid Abdullah.
The 400-member group plays a leading role in planning promotions for the gold and jewelry trade in Dubai, including the current Double Chance promotion. However, the group now plans to widen its activities to promote the image of the Dubai gold and jewelry trade locally, regionally and internationally, according to a press release.
The new strategy includes plans to participate in international exhibitions and roadshows and to develop partnerships with government and international bodies. The group also intends to place further emphasis on developmental and training activities, as well as to increase levels of service.
The group also appointed Bates PanGulf PR as its public relations agency. In order to implement its new strategy, the group has elected a number of subcommittees: Marketing and Research; Public Relations; Finance and Member Affairs, in addition to Legal Affairs.
Founded in 1995, the group has participated in Dubai Shopping Festival as one of the key sponsors since its inception and has rolled out several promotions. It also organizes training programs for members to help them improve services to consumers. — (menareport.com)
