The Dh280 million first phase has commenced in the construction of Dubai's newest free zone, focusing on the media production industry. Wade Adams, a major contractor in the Gulf, won the construction contract, Gulf News reported. Spread over 50 million square feet of land along Emirates and Al Khail roads the zone is designed to meet the needs of the globally oriented media production industry, starting with the unique needs of the printing, publishing and production sectors. Work on infrastructure is scheduled for completion in phases between 18 months to two years.
International Media Production Zone (iMPZ) will offer companies, the workforce and residents such facilities as schools, day care centres, parks, fitness and outdoor recreation facilities.
