Dubai will soon have a professional association for the signage industry which could be linked to the US-headquartered International Sign Association (ISA), according to Head of the Advertising Section, Dubai Municipality, Mohammed Al-Noori.
Speaking at the opening of Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East, the region's only specialized signage, graphic imaging and screen printing show, at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, Al-Noori said formation of the Dubai association is "imminent."
Touring the show, which is organized by International Expo-Consults and features 130 companies from 23 countries, Al-Mutaiwee said a key indicator of its success was the repeat business from exhibitors, some of which have participated for four years.
Sign & Graphic Imaging 2003, which spans 4,500 square meters, is 40 percent larger than the 2002 event and IEC says next year's show will be bigger still. "We have booked 6,000 square meters of space for the 2004 event because with regional industry growth we are projecting a 33 percent increase in exhibitor space demand," said ice President, IEC Mohammed Falaknaz. — (menareport.com)
