Oasis Centre, the shopping mall completely destroyed by fire during 2005 will be re-launched with an investment of Dh400 million as a more spacious, convenient and diversified facility, Khaleej Times reported. The new mall will have the same name and will cover almost three times the retail space of the old facility.
Since the fire, redevelopment plans for the property, have been drawn up and a fresh lease prepared, according to an official of Landmark group.
Vipen Sethi, group director Finance, for the Landmark Group, was quoted as saying by the newspaper: “The mall once completed will have four levels of retail space, totaling to approximately 600,000 square feet. There will also be one level of office space of approximately 200,000 square feet, totalling to 800, 000 square feet in all. For the convenience of customers three basement car parks with a capacity for 1600 cars have been planned.’’
