Dubai Municipality is participating in GITEX 2003. The Municipality stall, which is part of the Dubai e-Government pavilion, displays two sections. The first section promotes the e-services provided by the Municipality and the second section gives information about Explore Dubai, an online search on any facility in the Emirate.
Official at the Information Technology Department Mahmood Abdullah Al-Qatan is promoting the Municipality e-Services to visitors at the stall and said it has been receiving a very good response.
Visitors were distributed brochures, CDs and other publications regarding the e-services of the civic body. The section for Explore Dubai was also getting good response from visitors as far as from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran, who wanted to know the methods of accessing Explore Dubai.
Since the launch of Dubai Municipality's portal in 2001, a total of 56 services have been web enabled. Apart from these, a Directory of Services on the portal provides information about more than 260 municipality services. — (menareport.com)
