The Dubai Media City Dh183 million regional headquarter of Real Media FZ LLC, Zee Tower, is expected to be completed by June.
Real Media FZ LLC, the parent company of Zee Network and Zee Arabia, is investing to the tune of $50 million to have a local full- scale operation, while the investment is expected to touch $80 million by the end of 2007, said a senior company official according to Gulf News.
The group is going to have two channels dedicated to this region - Zee Aflam - a movie channel and a news channel telecasting in Arabic and English language. To facilitate their launch, the group will have their local studio facility, hence local production as well.
"We believe in taking regional people with us and our decision to expand presence in GCC with local studio and production facilities reflects long term commitment of the group in this region," explained Manoj A Mathew, vice-president, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Real Media FZ LLC.
Furthermore, with the plan of making Dubai a full-scale production hub, Real Media group will be doubling its staff strength from the existing 100 plus.
The movie channel is expected to show Arabic and English movies as well Hindi movies dubbed in Arabic.
