As part of the ongoing Emiratization at the Department of Civil Aviation, eight United Arab Emirates (UAE) Nationals received the Air Traffic Control Officers validation. Currently Dubai International Airport is controlled by 29 air traffic controllers, 30 percent of them being UAE Nationals.
Dubai International Airport has nearly 450 aircraft movements each day. This figure is expected to go up in the coming years, according to Dubai aviation officials, who plan to recruit eight new officers each year until 2008. — (menareport.com)
