The Dubai-based Al-Habtoor Group is planning to open in September 2001 a new luxury hotel at Sin Al-Fil in the center of Beirut, reported Gulf News. Part of the Metropolitan Hotels International chain, it will be called the Metropolitan Palace Hotel—Beirut.
The hotel will include 225 rooms and suites, with each including an on-suite bathroom. The 14 suites available will include the Presidential Suites, Royal Suites and Executive Suites. The most exclusive accommodation in the hotel will be the single penthouse.
The hotel will be located within walking distance from the exhibition centers of the Beirut Hall, the Futuroscope, nearby the Forum of Beirut and only a few minutes’ drive from Beirut International Airport.
Other hotels owned by the Al-Habtoor group include the Metropolitan Hotel in Dubai, the Beirut Metropolitan Palace Hotel, the Metropolitan Resort & Beach Club and the Metropolitan Deira Hotel. ― (MENA Report)
