Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed today a strategic partnership agreement with Industrial City (DI), aiming to strengthen and enhance the partnership relations actually existing between DEWA and its strategic partners at the head of which comes DI.
The agreement was signed by Saeed Al Tayer, Chief Executive Officer of DEWA and Rashed Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Industrial City at DEWA's main headquarters in Garhood in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Saeed M. Al Tayer MD & CEO stated that ,this agreement is an incorporation of the directions of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoom –Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai , that efforts of all departments shall combine to cope with the unprecedented constructional and economic boom in Dubai and the provision of excellent distinguished services.
He added that Dubai Industrial City is a significant vital partner of DEWA and there are various diversified fields of cooperation between us, this agreement represents a new turning point to this cooperation, which we hope will develop and consolidate to set an example for all government departments and organizations. HE emphasized the significance of enhancing joint work teams and furtherance of their powers and duties in order to provide work environment with flexible mechanism to participate in accomplishing and enhancing Dubai Vision.
Rashed Al Ansari said: “This is another strategic agreement by Dubai Industrial City to expedite the setting up of companies and allow investors operating in our township and the surrounding areas to complete their DEWA transactions and procedures for their commercial and industrial facilities with ease."
He added: “The new office will facilitate the work of DEWA since they will be operating from the city in close partnership with our staff and within easy reach to investors and the public living in nearby areas of Dubai such as Al barsha, Jebel Ali and Dubai Marina."
Al Tayer mentioned that this agreement brings a new approach to promote the concept of partnership through executive agreements or arrangements and common programs between the organisational units affiliated to both DEWA and DI, asserting that the joint work is vital to raise operation efficiency together with simplification of procedures and development of services provided to customers in a way that promote benefit and establish an integrated system for communication between the parties of the agreement to serve investors in Dubai Industrial City.
Spread over 560 million square feet, the dedicated destination which is designed according to a viable live, work and play concept features six industrial clusters for food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
Complementary facilities for logistics, warehousing, labour accommodation, industrial training in addition to commercial, residential and entertainment zones position Dubai Industrial City as a comprehensive one stop-shop destination, providing tenants with a critical competitive advantage in the areas of human resources, logistics and business operations.
