Dubai Police will launch an electronic programme to reconstruct the details and sites of traffic accidents.

Colonel Khaled Nassir Al Razouqi, Director, Dubai Police’s General Department of Electronic Services, said the programme will have electronic maps linked to satellites to determine accident sites and will allow the reconstruction of the accident scene.

The new system will save time and money and speed up completion of accident reports.

“It will also provide accurate traffic accident statistics, enabling police officers to study the areas witnessing the most accidents,” he added.

Dubai Police have conducted 11.3 million electronic interactions on its website, the largest number of interactions being queries on traffic violations — a whopping 10 million. Over 238,000 people paid their traffic violation fines online.

In addition, over 5,000 applied for jobs online while 856 applications were received for emergency services and from heart patients. There were 16 hits asking for tourist security.
