Dubai Duty Free recorded the highest rate of Kit Kat sales worldwide for an individual outlet. The data, which was collated by Nestlé, is based on total Dubai Duty Free sales volume for the period January to December 2002.
In the twelve-month period, Dubai Duty Free sold the equivalent of over 3.34million Kit Kat four finger bars, which works out at over 9,000 bars per day. “Confectionary is a fast growing category at Dubai Duty Free and currently accounts for around seven percent of our total business,” commented Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin.
Established in 1983, Dubai Duty Free recorded annual sales of $306 million in 2002, making it fifth in the world in terms of airport retail operations. Dubai Duty Free currently employs over 1,000 staff and stocks over 35,000 product lines. — (menareport.com)
