During his short stay in Dubai whilst visiting the Red Bull regional office, Dietrich Mateschitz, Founder and President of the Austrian Red Bull energy drink, met with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Defense.
Red Bull’s commitment to expanding and increased investment in the region is primarily due to the great success of the product in the local Arab market, and secondly to the confidence the company has in the prosperity of the Middle East region.
The company recently announced plans to establish a new production unit in Dubai. The company opened its regional headquarters in the Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ) in October 2002. Red Bull sales throughout the Middle East region account for roughly three percent of the manufacturer’s worldwide sales, in 70 countries. Mateschitz projects that this figure will double in two years time. — (menareport.com)
