United Arab Emirates (UAE) digital graphics developer ColourByte, industry, is targeting new Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) manufacturing sectors as part of its regional expansion strategy.

The Dubai-based company has identified the wood carving, furniture manufacturing, interior design, architecture, construction, 3D mould making and prototyping industries as potential growth areas for its computerized router and laser cutting brands.

“It is difficult to put an accurate figure on the size of these emerging markets. However, the value of furniture made in the UAE alone, where there are over 200 factories, is in excess of $500 million per annum,” said Managing Director of ColourByte Ralph Busselot.

“Meanwhile, the GCC’s building and construction services sector spend is recording double digit growth and is now estimated to be worth in excess of $45 billion annually. We are confident numerous business opportunities will arise as regional players move to meet the increasing demand for sector specific technology that delivers end user expectations and satisfaction, at an acceptable price,” said Busselot.

ColourByte plans to launch two new routers and engravers into the Middle East at Sign and Graphic Imaging 2003 – the region’s specialized signage, graphic imaging and screen printing sectors show – to be held at the Dubai International Expo Centre (DIEC), from January 19-21.

Organized by International Expo-Consults (IEC), Sign & Graphic Imaging 2003 will be 40 percent larger than the 2002 event, occupying 4,500 square meters of exhibition space. IEC have contracted for a third hall at the DIEC after the initial two halls sold out to accommodate a waiting list of exhibitors. — (menareport.com)
