The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) in co-ordination with the Trade Commission at the Spanish Embassy has issued a cautionary statement warning people against dealing with spurious United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based companies that sell tickets for the Spanish National lottery.
“The DED has received an official notification from the Spanish Trade Commission at the Spanish Embassy stating that genuine tickets for the Spanish National lottery can only be purchased through official state lottery shops within Spain,” said Deputy Director General of DED, Ali Ibrahim. “Any outlets professing to sell tickets for the Spanish National Lottery in the UAE are spurious.”
The statement is in response to several calls to the Spanish Trade Commission office in Dubai in order to confirm the legitimacy of the outlets. 'This is the second time in the last year that DED has issued such a warning. A similar statement was issued last November to caution potential buyers,' said Ibrahim.
DED’s objectives are to organize, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai. The DED's other functions comprise a wide range of regulatory activities including the preparation and maintenance of a commercial register and the supervision of all organizations. — (menareport.com)
