"Some fall on deaf ears and others take time before an amicable settlement to the owner-tenant dispute is reached," it added.
The argument that owners are justified in hiking rents given the rising costs of construction material, does hold water.
According to the article, the demands on the housing sector will only get worse in Dubai. Thus it is vital the city authorities act quickly by building both low and middle-income housing that will cater to all incomes.
