Dubai 2003 has signed an official partnership agreement with Audi for the German car manufacturer to supply limousines to chauffeur government leaders and senior officials during the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund that will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai in September 2003.

The agreement was formally signed by Dubai 2003 General Coordinator Ibrahim Belselah and the Chairman of Audi, Martin Winterkorn and the Board Member for Marketing Sales, Georg Flandorfer, at an event held during the Paris Motor Show on 26th September.

Audi will provide a total of 250 luxury A8 saloon cars that will be delivered from Germany to Dubai for the duration of the Annual Meetings. The German car manufacturer was also the partner for the chauffeur service when the Annual Meetings were last held outside of Washington, in Prague two years ago.

The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund began in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. Dubai and the UAE was selected because of its highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure and growing importance as a financial hub and its established position as the Crossroads for the New Global Economy. — (menareport.com)
