Fairs & Exhibitions, organizers of the Dubai 2003 international aerospace exhibition, says space sales for the show, which will be held in December this year, have now reached 60 percent of their expanded target. Space sales in February reached their highest monthly average to date, according to Fairs & Exhibitions.
"Given that we increased our space sales target by 25 percent on the last show, this means we have already achieved 75 percent of the space contracted for the whole of Dubai 2001," explained Clive Richardson, Chief Executive, Fairs & Exhibitions.
"In total 32 new exhibitors from 11 countries across Europe, the USA, Russia, Pakistan, Scandinavia, Canada and South America were contracted during last month," said Alison Weller, Project Manager, Dubai 2003.
"New contracted business included an Italian pavilion to be led by the Italian aerospace and defence industry association, AIAD, and the Italian Ministry of Defence, Air Shunt Instruments Inc. and Raytheon of the USA, Integrated Dynamics of Pakistan, Brazilian plane maker Embraer and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS).”
"Total space contracted during February reached 1,944 square meters while contracts were also sealed for six double and four single chalets. This means there are now only 11 chalets – six singles and five doubles unreserved and that’s almost three months before we go into our major
sales push at the Paris air show."
Fairs & Exhibitions says the air show is proving resilient to tensions in the Gulf, according to a company press release. "We have not had a single cancellation, and though some companies are being cautious about the size of stand booking, they seem as determined as ever to support the show," said Richardson.
To date, exhibitors from 19 countries have contracted for Dubai 2003, which will run at the Airport Expo Dubai from December 7-11. Some 14 national and industry groups have signaled their intentions to mount pavilions at the show, including first-time group participation from the
Ukraine and Switzerland.
Dubai 2003, the eighth international aerospace exhibition in the series, is being organized by Fairs & Exhibitions in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces.
A specialist defence conference will be held alongside Dubai 2003. Organized by international weekly publication Defense News in co-operation with F&E, the conference will be pitched at a high strategic level. It will be held at Le Meridien Dubai on December 6, 2003. — (menareport.com)
