The Rent Committee of Dubai Municipality resolved during the period from 4 September, 2004 to 29 January 2005 a total of 1,637 rental disputes worth more than Dhs145.2 million.
According to Saeed Mohammed Al Kindi, Head of the Committee, majority of the disputes related to the delay in payment of the rents and were lodged by the landlords. WAM reported taht there were 929 cases in this category, which accounted for 57 per cent of the total number of cases resolved by the committee.
