The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) began the year 2002 with the opening of an office in Zurich, Switzerland, targeting Swiss and Austrian markets. The new location is the 15th office in the DTCM's network of overseas offices and the sixth in Europe, reported a press release.

DTCM has identified consultants Odette AG to represent Dubai's interest in Zurich. Odette AG is a holding company with a supported network of enterprises in marketing and tourism, construction, technology, information technology, trade and commerce. The first major promotion to be tackled by the new office will entail participation in the travel fair Ferien 2002, in Vienna Austria that takes place from January 17 - 20.

DTCM's promotional activities in the Swiss and Austrian markets will include exhibition participation, marketing visits, presentations and roadshows, advertising, brochure distribution, media relations, as well as familiarization visits to Dubai for influential business and travel journalists.

The office will also function as the preliminary contact point and enquiry processing center for Swiss and Austrian companies and the travel trade interested in doing business with Dubai. The European market is already covered through DTCM offices in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. — (menareport.com)
