Direct air travel between the United Arab Emirates and Libya is now possible, with the inauguration of a regular air route between the international airports of Dubai and Tripoli.
According to the agreement, three flights will be operated each week, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights from Tripoli to Dubai will be direct, and flights from Dubai to Tripoli will stop over in Malta.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the new air route, Muhammad Yahya Al-Sweid, the secretary of the Libyan ministry of communications, and Taher Abdullah Barkan, the director general of Libya’s civil aviation authority, said that the new line marks a new phase in the relations between Libya and the UAE. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
