Digimarc ID Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Digimarc Corporation has signed a contract with Saudi Arabia's National Information Centre (NIC), a division of the Ministry of Information in Riyadh, to issue 500,000 Citizen Cards. Shipments of the materials began in November 2002.
Under the contract Digimarc ID Systems provides secure imaging and card materials including secure laminates with magnetic stripes and its proprietary optical-variable, ultraviolet and other security features. The Citizen Cards will be issued over the counter at more than 250 NIC locations across Saudi Arabia.
