International air express company DHL has signed a partnership agreement with Abu Dhabi-based aircraft maintenance provider Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (GAMCO), stated a press release.

DHL will act as GAMCO’s principal supplier of logistics, freight and inventory management services. In turn, GAMCO will provide European Air Transport (EAT), a wholly owned DHL subsidiary based in Europe, with heavy checks for its Airbus B4 freighters.

The agreement is aimed at delivering considerable business savings and improve service standards to both partners. GAMCO is providing DHL with global turn-around times for aircraft maintenance and is receiving international freight and logistics expertise to improve its overall performance through a supply chain solution controlled, managed and implemented by DHL UAE.

DHL Worldwide Express was established in 1969, offering express deliveries in addition to e-commerce fulfillment and intelligent logistics solutions. The DHL network links over 120,000 destinations in more than 220 countries and territories, and employs 71,000 people. DHL is majority owned by Deutsche Post World Net. Other shareholders include Lufthansa and Japan Airlines.

GAMCO provides integrated aircraft servicing on worldwide scale, specializing in Boeing, Airbus family and Lockheed L-1011/C130 model aircraft, from line activity to heavy maintenance. It supports a number of airline operators at facilities in Abu Dhabi.

In-house capabilities include technical support and design, training and a comprehensive component workshop facility. Aircraft painting is available on site at the heavy maintenance base. — (menareport.com)
