DHL Saudi Arabia has chartered the large Antonov 124 aircraft, on its first flight ever to the Kingdom to transport the largest one piece shipment ever moved by the company, a one piece 91 ton heat exchanger from Germany to Dammam.

Express and logistics company DHL picked up the shipment at Borsig in Germany where it was accompanied by a police escort to Schenfeld Airport and loaded onboard the Antonov. On arrival at King Fahad International Airport in Dammam the heat exchanger was transferred to a special hydraulic trailer, cleared through customs and delivered to SASREF.

Earlier this year, SASREF, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Shell, awarded DHL an exclusive three year contract for the provision of fully integrated logistics services, an extension of DHL's 20-year association with Aramco. SASREF was established in 1980 in Jubail and is one of the 15 largest refineries in the world with an output of more than 300,000 barrels a day. — (menareport.com)
