The interior design team for the City of Arabia's Dh918 million 'G-Tower' luxury residential property development will reportedly be led by world renowned French designer, Philippe Starck.

The Dubailand development under the direction of Starck, who has refurbished private apartments of President Mitterrand of France in the past, is expected to turn the emirate into an elite property destination along with other cities' which boast works by Starck, according to Gulf News.

Starck will design all of the tower's apartments, as well as its amenity spaces and pool area. Work on the 280 meter, 45-storey residential tower, is set for completion during the last three months of 2008.

Rashid Galadari, chairman of Galadari Investment Office (GIO), the property investment management company behind G-Tower, said that the move is proof of the company's aim to 'redefine the concept of luxury in the region'.

"Too many companies are trying to differentiate their properties through gimmicks and giveaways, and are not able to demonstrate the core value and beauty that investors are looking for when they buy a home," said Galadari.

"The G-Tower will be a combination of revolutionary exterior architecture by Alex Vacha and exquisitely executed interior design, underscored by the genius of Starck," added Galadari.
