Department of Civil Aviation Dubai to study management and handling of Basra airport

President of the Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum recently met with a 27-member Iraqi delegation led by the Governor of Basra and interim Governing Council member, Wael Abdul Latif Al-Fadal. Director of the DNRD Col Saeed Bin Belailah was also present at the meeting. 

 

Abdul Latif specifically mentioned the management of Basra airport. “We are very impressed with the progress made by Dubai International Airport and are here to learn. We request Sheikh Ahmed to consider taking up the management and handling of Basra airport.”  

 

Sheikh Ahmed commented: “We are definitely interested in the venture and will study it in depth. When the time is right we will be the first to take up the project.” The delegation was shown a special presentation on the expansion plans of Dubai International Airport and later went on a tour. — (menareport.com)
