Demand for prefabricated housing units in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently valued 500 million Emirati dirhams ($136 million) annually. According to a study issued by the Emirates Industrial Bank, domestic demand for such structures grew noticeably in recent years, reported Al-Bayan.

Prefabricated buildings, manufactured UAE’s 165 local factories, are used primarily as facilities housing manufacturing plants, warehouses, offices and stables.

The majority of the raw materials used for the production of prefabricated units are imported, mainly from the United States, the UK, Italy, Australia, India and South Korea. — (Mena Report)
