Tunisian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed Nejib Hachana and the Director of the Tunisian Trade Office in Dubai, Mohamed Ali Hasni visited the Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (DCCI) on January 14, 2004.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss ways to develop the current business and commercial relations between the two countries, and to build new bridges of cooperation.
“Our two countries enjoy a great political relationship, but our economic relationship requires development and continuous communication,” said Hachana. Director General of DCCI Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al-Mutaiwee agreed with his guest that the economic relations between the two countries have not been very strong, and that efforts must be made to change this.
“Tunisia represents the north of Africa, and Dubai represents the east of the Arab region, and we have both directed our heading towards western and eastern states more than the Arab world” said Al-Mutaiwee.
Regarding trade and commerce, Al-Mutaiwee highlighted the fact that Tunisian products have a good standing, but added that the competition is fierce. He encouraged Tunisian traders and businessmen to promote their products in the Gulf region by participating in all the big events and exhibitions taking place in Dubai throughout the year.
Al-Mutaiwee praised the efforts of Mohamed Ali Hasni and pointed out that he is instrumental in consolidating relations between the two countries. — (menareport.com)
