Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) has announced that it is bringing together some of its leading international IT companies under its wing to participate at GITEX Dubai 2004. The co-participating companies include Planet Optical Disc, G-Hanz EMF Telecom, C3 Automation and Sol Telecom FXE. GITEX, the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East, is being held between October 3 and 7, 2004 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC).
DAFZA has witnessed a 49 percent increase of IT companies within its premises, with 34 new IT companies signed up in 2004. Currently in its fourth phase of development, the Authority hosts a total 441 multinational companies, of which 23.6 percent belong to the Computer, Electronics and Telecommunication sector.
"As Dubai secures its position as the IT hub of the Middle East, an increasing number of international IT-related companies are looking at making the emirate their regional headquarters. GITEX, with its reach to over 60,000 IT professionals is the ideal platform for us to attract IT companies to our facilities," said Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director General, Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA).
