Cyprus Airways has integrated into its fleet the latest generation Airbus 330-200 widebody aircraft, which will be followed by a second aircraft in Spring 2003. Both aircraft are being leased from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) and powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.

The Larnaca-based carrier plans to use the A330-200 on its popular existing destinations such as London while having the potential to serve also profitably more distant cities. In addition, the A330-200 large cargo holds are suited to the expansion and growth of the Cyprus-UK freight market.

Cyprus Airways has chosen a spacious layout, seating 30 passengers in Business and 265 in Economy. Cyprus Airways, an all-Airbus operator for over ten years and an A320 launch customer, operates ten Airbus single-aisle aircraft including two A319s and eight A320s on its network in Europe and the Middle East.

Airbus is a global company with design and manufacturing facilities in France, Germany, the UK, and Spain as well as subsidiaries in the US, China and Japan. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Airbus is an EADS joint Company with BAE SYSTEMS. — (menareport.com)
