Cypriot citrus fruits are now to be found for the first time on supermarket shelves throughout the United States and Canada. The Mediterranean island is exporting mainly lemons and mandora, a cross between mandarins and orange, to North America.
Citrus is the second most important export crop of Cyprus after potatoes. The main citrus exported from Cyprus are grapefruit, lemons and oranges. Most of the produce is directed towards European markets, mainly the UK, followed by Czechoslovakia, Austria and Poland. — (menareport.com)
