Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council, today inaugurated the first state-of-the-art, customer focused one-stop-shop for government services in Madinat Zayed, one of the six major cities in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region.
The pilot centre, unveiled Tuesday with its own brand identity, TAMM, which means ‘done’ in Arabic, marked the first in a series of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the citizens and residents living and working in the Western Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
“This is an extremely exciting day for all of us at the WRDC. The opening of this new pilot TAMM Centre for Government Services is a significant milestone. Our commitment is to surpass our own expectations and by embracing a modern and progressive approach we know we can meet and exceed the expectations of the people of the Western Region,” said Eissa Saif Al Mazrouei, Member of the Program Management Office of the Western Region Development Committee.
TAMM is the first expression of the new look government services and initiatives being introduced by the WRDC. The one-stop-shop provides a convenient single point delivery for a range of government services, including health service registration and certificates, the notarisation of legal documents, traffic police services such as driving licenses and tests, Etisalat telecommunication services and welfare and labour services to name a few.
A temporary location was set-up to launch the pilot initiative for the network of one-stop-shops that will be rolled out all over the western region. The permanent location will be in a state-of-the-art stand alone facility that is scheduled for completion in a few months. Additional government services will be implemented and expanded upon by the time the permanent location is ready.
Based at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs Building in Madinat Zayed, the TAMM Centre for Government Services provides a single source solution to an individual’s administrative and residential support needs. The centralized services are designed to provide clear and systematic processes and a single point of contact.
Moreover, timely responses and fast and efficient implementation will relieve citizens and residence alike of the hassle of having to travel to Abu Dhabi city to deal with all government services needs. All activities are customer oriented with a view to making transactions easy, convenient, and swift.
New services due to come on line over the coming months include; Emirates Post services, banking services, commercial and building license services, and Embassy services to name a few.
TAMM Centres are also expected to be rolled out across the Western Region within the next 12 months, following a successful pilot project at Madinat Zayed. The first centres are expected to be operational during the first half of 2006. The TAMM Centre in Madinat Zayed will be the hub for Mirfa, Liwa and Ghyathi, for which satellite operations are due to launch in April for Mirfa and July 2006 for Liwa and Ghyathi. The Silaa satellite operation is set to launch in May 2006.
The new interior design concept for the Western Regions’ government services was created with the aim of providing an enjoyable and comfortable experience where the customer can choose what they need, when they need it and all in a welcoming and uncluttered environment.
“This new TAMM centre is one of a planned series of strategic business initiatives to rebuild the foundations from which we can construct sustainable social and economic success." continued Eissa Saif Al Mazrouei.
The new TAMM logo was inspired by the concepts of good faith and good will. It envelops a contemporary look and feel with the various government departments and services represented as pieces of a puzzle that all come together to form one organization and one set of global services. Colours are both bold and electric with the word TAMM representing the amalgamating effect around the puzzle that forms the globe. The globe icon itself floats freely, representing the ease with which services will be provided.
“The new TAMM image is fundamental to what we are and to the direction we want to take in the future. It is not just a logo but a distinctive character – the essence of how we behave, how we communicate and in turn how we are perceived,” said Khalifa Salem Al Mansoori, TAMM Manager.
The launch of the new centre follows the announcement made just yesterday, Sunday September 25th, 2005, of the ambitious plans to deliver better government, better services and more opportunities to people and businesses living and operating in the Western Region of the UAE.
The Government of Abu Dhabi has embarked on a journey to construct a brighter future for citizens and residents living and working in the six main cities located in the Western Region: Madinat Zayed, Mirfa, Ghayathi, Silaa, Liwa and the Island of Delma.
