The Third International Human Resources Association Forum will be held from February 10-13, 2002. The Association's Middle East North African (MENA) chapter will hold its conference at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Sponsored by IIR “Focus on Saudisation” will study progress to date and challenges facing successful nationalization of the Saudi workforce, stated a press release.
The conference will focus on many aspects of Saudization – from job creation to career planning, strategic challenges, long-term Government commitment and how to achieve success through training and educating the workforce. Case studies will be presented on Kuwaitization, Omanization, Bahrainization and Emiratization.
The conference will be an interactive event with Round Table discussions ensuring maximum networking and exchange of ideas. Recruitment and Selection, Career Development and Training, Personnel Retention and Motivational Factors will all be up for discussion.
At present there are six million expatriates working in Saudi Arabia. The Government wants to see a five percent growth in the Saudi workforce each year – to eventually achieve a ratio of 75 percent Saudi and 25 percent expatriate workers. — (menareport.com)
